Are your thoughts in the clouds?

Most mornings I sit by my window to watch the sunrise, coffee in hand naturally. Once the coffee kicked in a bit I had some interesting thoughts as I watched the colors shift. The sky is visual representation of our minds. Some days, it’s perfectly clear- we can watch the sun come up and the stars at night. Other days, the clouds filter out the sun into different sections. It’s as if the hand of the gods made clouds out to be visualizations of our dreams and goals. Let me explain further.

Have you ever sat and watched the clouds as a child? You found clouds that were shaped like animals or different objects, or maybe even faces. As if the clouds in the sky could be our own personal vision boards. I might go as far as to say that the clouds help bring forth our subconscious thinking. As an adult, I think a lot of people miss out on the little things around them. This is one of those things that might just provide some sense of clarity for someone out there. I challenge you to take some time to watch the clouds and see what your brain does. How are your thoughts shifting? Are they taking shape? How do you feel? Just be present in that moment.

As I write this, I’m watching the sunrise through the clouds. It’s always lovely, although the colors aren’t as bright - some would even call it boring. To that I say, “beauty is in the eye of the beholder” right? That’s my point. What I see in the sky, or the clouds, is so different than what you will see. I’m seeing what my brain, my feelings, my dreams want me to see.
Don’t get me wrong here, I’m not saying that every time I stare at the sky I have magnificent visions. I have spent plenty of moments just watching the sky with a heart of gratitude. That’s it. Such a simple thing in your day or night that could help you think a little clearer, or just relax you a bit. It’s a crazy world we live in. Remember to take a moment, breathe, and come back to the present moment. And just know that it's ok to not have all the answers.
The sky changes so fast sometimes, and we're all guilty of taking too many pictures. Don't lose the actual moment, just be present. Enjoy what’s in front of you.
